Mount Sibulan-Kapatagan Geothermal Project (MSKGP)

The Mount Sibulan-Kapatagan Geothermal Project (MSKGP) is located in Digos City, Davao del Sur. It is within the "Multiple Use Zone" of the Mt. Apo National Park and is bounded by the EDC Mt. Apo Geothermal Project to the northwest.
MSKGP was subjected to three (3) G Geoscientific surveys and evaluations by then PNOC-EDC since the 1980s. The last geophysical survey, a Magnetotelluric (MT) survey, was conducted in 2010.
The latest three (3) G evaluation suggested that the area is a major "Outflow Zone" of the geothermal system of Mt. Apo. To its southeast is Mt. Sibulan volcano and to its east-northeast is Mt. Talomo. Both are not yet fully assessed and are all part of the Volcanic Arc of Central Mindanao which is also known as “Central Mindanao Volcanic Arc (CMVA) after Corpus E.S.G. University of Canterbury 1992. The MSKGP has a potential geothermal energy resource of up to 1200MWe in a 10,000- hectare area.
The potential geothermal energy or “Storage Capacity” is based on "Power Density" calculations. This prospectus presents the Financial Projections of a 100MWe stored heat resource of MSKGP utilizing a single rig for drilling at a target capacity of 10MWe per well.
Development Roadmap
A 7- year Geothermal Service Contract (GSC# 2022-10-079) was issued by the Department of Energy (DOE) to Power South Energy and Petroleum, Inc. (PSEPI). Within this 7-year period, PSEPI must develop the geothermal resource and declare commerciality to entitle it to a 25-year contract to exploit the resource, renewable for another 25 years.
