Status & Opportunities

The Mt. Sibulan–Kapatagan Geothermal Project (MSKGP) is in its Exploration and Development stage. Power South Energy & Petroleum Incorporated (PSEPI) has completed the 3-G Work Program (Geology, Geochemistry and Geophysical surveying, including Magnetotelluric and Gravity Surveys) over 30% of its 10,682 hectares block. PSEPI is now preparing for the drilling of exploration wells.

PowerSouth Energy through its technical consultant BBGS has estimated most like potential of 100 MW. A 3D model has been created for the Integrated Resource Assessment (IRA) & the Preliminary Conceptual Model (PCM) of the Geothermal Field are already available after processing the raw data of the two geophysical surveys, which resulted to the completions of the 3D model and resource assessment by SLB Milan Team and GeothermEx. A third-party independent evaluation was likewise completed by JRG Consultants (company based in New Zealand).

The laboratory results additional geothermal gas sampled recently together with the 3D model, will be the basis for identifying potential drillable targets for the geothermal resources present at MSKGP.  The most likely potential has been calculated between 68 MW (JRG), 77 MW (Geothermex) and PSEPI at 100 MW to  a maximum of 120 MW (P10) from the three independent studies.

Power South Energy most likely estimated at 100 MW for the northwestern quadrant where the study with the 3D model, has been focused representing only 30% of PSEPI’s block.

Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) started last April 2025, is now on its final completion, with the final report submitted to Power South by mid-October 2025. The results will be submitted to the Department of Energy (DOE) and to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the needed Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) requirement for the Exploration & development Phase of the Mt. Sibulan–Kapatagan Geothermal Project, which require the drilling of exploration wells.

The Partners plan to pursue the Certificates of Energy Projects of National Significance (CEPNS) from the Department of Energy (DOE) and seek BOI certification under the One-Stop Action Center for Strategic Investment (“Green Lane”).

At the same time, options to find the project and onboard suitable investors are on-going.  Based on project screening, the block has the potential to generate +100MW of energy be a phased-modular delivery. The preliminary economics of the project indicate a healthy +15% IRR and +$200 million NPV.As strategic partners, Power South Energy and SLB intend to evaluate options to diligently de-risk the resource, accelerate development, and optimize energy generation through fit-for-field technologies and integrated solutions.
